Jamaica and the Cayman Islands is set to take a direct hit by Hurricane Dean today August 19th , 2007. It is the fourth named storm or the season, the third tropical cyclone, first hurricane and first major hurricane of the 2007 Atlantic hurricane season, and the most intense tropical cyclone in the Atlantic Basin since Hurricane Wilma of 2005. A Cape Verde-type hurricane, as of August 18, 2007 it had moved through the eastern Caribbean Sea , west of the Lesser Antilles where it has already killed at least 6 people.

The Caribbean has faced many hurricanes before in the past and through the resiliency of the people have been able to recover and rebuild with fierce determination.
Hurricane Dean is set , as of August 19th to , directly hit the island of Jamaica which has sustained Category 4 Hurricanes before in the past. This storm is forecasted to hit the island with 155mph winds and threatens, Kinston, the most populous metropolitan area in the country.
Jamaicans are evacuating from the low lying area.
Haiti as of early am Sunday is already experiencing some significant effects of Hurricane Dean at Category 4 Level on its southern coast.
Caribbean People all over the world are awaiting news regarding their loved ones and properties . The Caribbean Communityin Columbus Ohio is already readying itself for any eventuality. If the needs arises, immediate mobilization is expected in order to get resources to the most effected areas .
