BROOKLYN, USA (CMC) - Barbados recorded a major upset Sunday in the New York Caribbean Football Cup when they trounced Jamaica 3-1 at the Jefferson High School Stadium, putting an end to the defending champions’ long winning streak.

Shon King, Jamal Watson and Jeffrey Williams all scored to send Jamaica to their first loss in the 12-team championship in three years, following their 1-2 loss to Haiti back in 2006.

A robust Barbadian squad put the Jamaicans under tremendous pressure from the first whistle in the fifth round of the 2009 campaign, and maintained that momentum throughout the duel. more

Major League Soccer Offers the Gold Cup 2-Pack for upcoming Jamaica vs Costa Rica Game

The much anticipated Gold Cup double header  match between Caribbean/Central American rivals Jamaica and Costa Rica  and  North American and  Central American match up Canada and El Salvador on July 7th is Fast Approaching. Starting next week tickets will be getting more and more hard to come by . Columbus has a rich Football (Soccer) tradition and with so many people of Central American and Caribbean heritage in town it could be a major night all around. Currently tickets can be bought at the stadium or Via Ticketmaster. Much local anticipation in the Caribbean community surrounds the Jamaican National Team also known as the Reggae Boyz vs. Costa Rica.
