The Columbus Caribbean Association is supported solely be charitable donations of its members and organizations that feel our goals are complementary to theirs. Dues are collected by officially registered members as a means of maintaining the organizations basic operating costs.
The group is currently completely voluntary and there are no paid members , which includes officers and the board. Account statements are available to be viewed by registered members on a quarterly basis.
3. Can I donate to the Columbus Caribbean Association ?
Any one may donate to the Columbus Caribbean Association. We are a non profit organization established for Charitable purposes.
The Columbus Caribbean Assocation is registered with the Secretary of State of Ohio as a non profit organization, however it is currently not registered at the Federal level as a 501(c)(3) organization. A 501(c)(3) organization is a nonprofit organization (usually incorporated as we are) that has applied for and obtained recognition of tax exemption by the Interanl Revenus Service.
Donates to 501(c)(3) organizations are usually readily tax exempt. That means that donations to our organization will not be tax exempable on your returns. Otherwise you may donate as you would with any other charitable organization.
